In 2007, AlJazeera/English brought a film crew to Nepal and produced an inspired twenty-minute documentary about one blind man’s effort to launch a national cricket tournament comprised solely of blind athletes, including young Nepali women.
The short film is highly recommended, especially at this juncture in Nepal’s history, when the self-interests of endlessly re-treaded party leaders shamelessly compromise their country’s future in favor of preserving their personal power. There are plenty of heroes in Nepal. Just don’t go looking for them in the corridors of Parliament.
